Tattyoo Temporary Tattoos

Tattyoo have been creating temporary tattoos that appeal to both adults and children alike since 2012. Offering a collection of unique and iconic designs, colours, styles and the golden ‘flash’ tattoo range that have a metallic finish and seem to give a golden glow that look like jewellery. Our range of Tattyoo's styles are here to accentuate an outfit, feed a little (temporary) rebellion streak,  add some birthday fun to party bags and activities and inspire creativity. The full collection is available here.

Here below you'll find all your questions answered about the temporary tattoos, from how to apply them to how to make them last longer.

How do I apply my tattoo?

1. Skin must be completely clean dry and free of any oils or lotions.
2. It is best to have a friend apply your tattoo so it will be positioned properly and so your skin is not twisted.
3. Skin area where tattoo is placed must not be twisted or stretched. The more hairless the skin the better. Shave if necessary.
4. Remove transparent covering and apply to skin
5. Apply water onto tattoo backing and make sure entire design is covered...wait 30-40 seconds.
6. Lift corner slightly to see if tattoo is transferring.
7. Slide paper gently aside.
8. Rinse gently with warm water to remove excess glue.
9. Be sure not to twist or stretch skin until tattoo has set (at least ten minutes).
10. Tattoos last usually 3-5 days. This depends on such factors as skin type, location, and care. The use of shower gels may shorten the life of the tattoo.

How long do they last?

Tattyoo temporary tattoos typically last at least 3-7 days on a area like ankles and wrists or where you don't sweat much or it wont get rubbed off by your clothing or shoes. This depends on how and where applied and usage. If you put a Tattyoo on hands it will only last for 1 day. Do not use Tattyoos on skin if you applied sun creams!  It won't work.

Lengthening the Life Span of your Fake Tattoo:

The greatest benefit of wearing a temporary tattoo is that it remains on your skin for a very short period. These tattoos are typically designed to last on your skin for a few days before they start fading or coming off. There are a few ways in which you can make your tattoo last a little longer like avoiding application of oils or lotions or even much soap in that area. Immediately after applying the tattoo, it also helps if you dust on a bit of baby powder or talc and keep the tattoo free of clothing. The proper care and attention will ensure your fake tattoos last a little bit longer without cracking, fading or peeling off too soon.

Are they safe for children ?

Yes. Temporary tattoos are safe and non-toxic with certified colorants. Every tattoo meets all international regulatory requirements. Tattyoo's products meet EU and US safety standards for cosmetic and toy products.
Their ingredients do not contain parabens or methylisothiazolinone.
You can easily remove the tattoo with baby oil, nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol.
Warning: Tattyoo recommend that their tattoos are not suitable for children under the age of 3 years. Small parts may cause a choking hazard.

Are temporary tattoos safe?

Safety is very important to us. These tattoos are printed with soy-based inks (as opposed to to traditional petroleum-based ink) and we deliver the highest quality temporary tattoos in the world. The temporary tattoos you purchase are completely safe, non-toxic and hypoallergenic. Tattyoo's manufacturer uses only certified colorants and time-proven manufacturing techniques to ensure their products meet or exceed all applicable international regulatory requirements.
In March, 2013, the FDA site, MedWatch, reported on several people with temporary tattoos experiencing blisters, redness, raised red weeping lesions, light sensitivity and also permanent scarring. The ‘black henna’ includes ingredients which make the tattoos darker and last longer, rendering them more problematic. Coal-tar hair dye, added to black henna, contains para-phenylenediamine (PPD). PPD is illegal to add to cosmetics due to its propensity to cause allergic reactions. Tattyoo do not use PPD in our temporary tattoos.

The Secret Garden

Sometimes the most magical place awaits behind a door we've yet to see. Adventures in places we can only imagine, until now. An invisible door that draws a boundary between one place and another; the everyday and the imagined, the story that we live each day and the stories that we read of others.

This Secret Garden; a collection of pieces that take the imaginer to their Neverland, a weave of fairytale fabrics and sequins that symbolise the ethereal, the mystic, the fairytale-esque dreams and bring it to the forefront of the wardrobe. Pieces that truly turn the wardrobe into another world, a world of possibilities and adventures.

Take a step into the wonderful world of Tutu du Monde, come play in the secret garden. Where dreams blossom, afternoons play alongside butterflies, sparrow song fills the sky and you'll float amongst the dandelion dream wishes.

Flowers for the Weekend

I first saw these flowers last year and I was immediately inspired to make them with my children. Every time I see this picture I fall in love all over again.  Spring is natures way of saying let's party and there's nothing like growing your own or in fact making your own everlasting flowers. These cake topper blooms are perhaps my favourite paper flower tutorial and the very element of everything happy.

You'll find the free printable templates for these paper blooms over at The House that Lars built.
If you're not familiar with Brittany's website then this should come with a warning, that The House that Lars built is a truly addictive, inspiring blog full of so much creativity that you'll quite simply be hooked.

happy weekend
