Take a Seat

For a while Rice DK have been wanting to make some furniture - just a few good pieces. And so, taking years of knowledge, teamed with a passion for great design, a love of colour and an understanding of the fine balance between functionality and beauty a collection of chairs, sofas and poufs has been launched.
Rice Dk have taken elements of a 300 year old classic, revisited its modernist design of the 50’s and 60’s and reawakened it. Retaining its glamour whilst re-inventing its feel with a timeless twist, Rice are truly showing off their skills of reinvention and colour.
The wing chair has been given a whole new lease of life. Just as Arne Jacobsen created ‘the egg’ for Fritz Hansen (Denmark 1958) or Grant Featherstone’s interpretation of the wing chair in 1951 shapes are so often seen successfully repeated, rehashed, and reborn into something utterly unique belonging to its time and a remaining a classic forever after.

This Spring collection of a select few colourful pieces with luxurious velvet takes us back to a time where libraries and lady lounges were the thing. An air of Hollywood glamour intertwined with Danish design and Rice’s signature colour contrast needs a round of applause.

Whether for a feature in a cosy corner, a key element in a main room, a coffee table-come-foot-rest, a splash of colour at the end of the bed, or for draping yourself over in the dressing room as you pour bubbles into the bath. These iconic styles suit every decor and every room.

Here’s the practical & the good to know bits:

The pieces are made in Europe – and made to order. We ask that you please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. We can usually deliver faster but we don't want to make a promise we can’t keep.
The feet of the furniture are made of oak painted with acrylic enamel. The wheels are made of chrome-plated brass. The base of the chair is made of pine wood and chipboard. The stuffing of the chair is VP 25 foam on the backside and arm rests and fiberfill on the seating surface. The textile is microfiber with nano protection.

Stain removal (we know how important this bit is):

When cleaning the fabric, remove the stain as much as possible with a kitchen towel. Use hot water with non-coloured soap and remove the stain by rubbing it in a circular motion with a brush or cloth. Remember to always rub inwards so the stain does not spread.  Wipe off with a clean cloth until it is dry and brush the fabric so the pile rises again. So far we’ve not had a spill we couldn't remove with a damp cloth.

We hope this is just the beginning of a new adventure for Rice Dk
