Advent number 8 - Free printable Christmas cards

For many people this is the weekend when Christmas cards are written and sent. So with printer ink at the ready and colouring pens and pencils on the table we're spending the afternoon sending Christmas wishes to family and friends. Here's our list of favourite free Christmas cards to print.

Advents 6th Door - Red Reindeer Card, Gift Tag and Decoration

I couldn't resist this beautiful red reindeer with moveable legs, tail and antlers. Used as a gift tag, a Christmas card sent attached to a postcard, as a gift tag or maybe even a line of them hung together for festive decoration. Advents 5th Door - Reading journal notebook printable

It's great when the advent is full of things that last longer than just a morning and this reading journal is such a find. I love this reading book journal as a way of encouraging reading and for keeping track of all the books you've read together and enjoyed over the year. Older children can fill it in themselves with their own thoughts on the book. Perhaps discovering a new favourite author and fall in love with all the books they've written. 

It's a great keepsake too to look back on at time spent together enjoying adventures found in all your favourite books. Wrapped up with a hand written book voucher or a new book to read together you can begin a new tradition and create a new memento of childhood.

Print as many pages as you like for each season, start a list of books you'd like to save for another year and use coloured card for a little special touch. I know a few book worms as well as my own children who'd enjoy journeying through books with this at their side.

Advents 4th Door - Four Little Birds

The advent surprises that always seem to be the biggest success in our house are the 'busy' ones. The ones that can hold the kids captive with creativity as they sit and cut, colour, paint, fold and glue. When I discovered this printable a while back I knew I had to use it for the advent. There are four different styles to print along with the corresponding four observation sheets full of detail and colour. Use paint or colouring pens, crayons or pencils, add sequins and fabric to the background or simply trace over the outline with your favourite colour. Printed onto coloured card and put into a frame they'd make wonderful gifts for family too. 

Print them off and let the kids be inspired to turn them into their own unique works of art.

Advents 3rd Door - Paper city play, Nativity Scenes & for the Love of Dino's Printables

I've got quite a craft crush on Made by Joel and love his ethos.  Joel's printables have rescued many a flight and train journey from squeals of boredom and his brilliant book has helped turn rainy days into something a little more magical.  

Perfect for keeping little hands busy and minds full of adventure stories and imaginings these card cut outs are a great advent treat. Print, cut and fold, you can create scenes of different countries and there's even a nativity scene too complete with a whole menagerie of animals.
