Wednesday Woo: New things from Belle & Boo!

Belle & Boo have once again made us giddy with some new beautiful pieces using some of Mandy Sutcliffe's well-loved illustrations - Ava's Tea Party, The Reading Group, Pirate Party and Club House.  There's a wonderful Melamine Set which includes a plate, bowl, cup and cutlery.  The vintage style Lunch Box and the traditional tin Money Box have been cleverly designed with the illustrations wrapping all around.  The detail is lovely and the images conjour up a time of wonder and play - climbing trees, swinging from branches, lolling on the grass and making tea parties.

Wednesday Woo: More Belle & Boo

 

More Belle & Boo has arrived in the boutique.  We love receiving our packages from Belle & Boo, and it's lovely to share these things with you...

I have a space on my own wall reserved for the Family Tree Poster.  I't's a great project to involve the children and gather some family photos to sit among the branches.  It comes in 2 sizes, Medium £16.00 and Large £30.00

The Boo Bag is now available in 3 sizes: Small Boo £12,  Large Repeat Print Boo £15, Large Boo £14.  They are made of heavy cotton canvas with a long red strap and they all come with a surprise badge. Adorable!

We couldn't resist the Lost Cut Out Card £3.00, from one of our favourite Belle & Boo art prints Lost.  It would make a lovely gift or a an extra special greetings card.

Wednesday Woo: A Trousseau for a Baby

Trousseau is the French diminutive of trousse which means bundle.  A Trousseau is traditionally the possessions, such as clothing and linens, that a bride assembles for her marriage.  A Baby Trousseau is therefore the pieces a mother and family and friends gather for a baby - blankets, linens, clothing and keepsakes - some new and some handed down.

May is definitely the merry month of new life.  There have been many birth and pregnancy announcements recently and we are feeling rather broody ourselves!  There is such pleasure in gathering things for your new baby or presenting something to a friend for their 'baby trousseau,' something that will be treasured.

Wednesday Woo: Time for Tea, Cakes, Bunting & a Royal Parade

This Friday 29th April 2011 we will witness the marriage of Prince William & Kate Middleton. It is a significant moment in history and many people will mark it with a good old-fashioned 'knees-up.' 

To help you get into the mood for celebrating we have some fabulous bunting.  Bunting is the perfect party accessory - put it up and you will feel instant cheer. These fabric flag garlands can be used for many more future occasions.

Easter brings us a very welcome long spring weekend with friends and family.  It's a time to gather and celebrate the new season - a celebration that involves fun, food and outdoor play, along with gifts and goodies that express the arrival of spring.

Part of the ritual I enjoy in decorating for Easter is putting the darker wintry coloured fabrics away and re-discovering all the fresh linens that signal the new season.
