This week has been a week of new beginnings. Sophia returned to school, starting year 1 and Oona has begun her mornings at the local Montessori, following in the footsteps of her big sister.
It has been an emotional week with conflicting feelings of excitement and pride intermingled with a sadness for having to let go of our summer together and evenings are spent reflecting whilst sewing labels into their uniform.
A fresh breeze has blown the Autumn collection into the boutique and as each new collection arrives bringing their winter coats and hushed autumnal tones I am reminded of the changing seasons and the chilly days ahead.
Summer clothes are slowly being put away, not returning to their place in the wardrobes after their spin in the wash but rather set aside to be handed down. Seen again when the summer returns.
Now after its first days of its new beginning is over there is a sense of calm and excitement for all that lies ahead. New friendships, afternoons spent kicking the fallen leaves as we walk home through the park, hot chocolate upon coming home and sharing our days as we eat our warm wintry food sitting at the table together.
I feel ready.
This is the first in a new series where we give you an insight into the lives and times behind the scenes of Sisters Guild.
